For this home, the family room is the largest room and the focal point of the space. Already beautiful with hardwood floors and plentiful windows facing both garden and deck, this room needed special care to enhance the views. Here we use color (yellow and turquoise) to keep it sunny and bright, we added plants at the windows and a wicker settee to bring the garden inside, and we chose elegantly simple cocktail/end/console tables to richen the look. Our Greek key bordered sisal rug is a standout here providing a visually interesting backdrop for this lovely room.
In the case of this home, the living room is small (more like a sitting room) and is in the same space as the dining room and entryway. We chose an eclectic mix of furnishings to accentuate this combined space. More elegant than the family room, glass dining and entry tables are used. Colors are richer and more varied to keep it interesting. As always, artwork plays a large part in keeping the space interesting, bright and alive. The client brought in live floral arrangements from another vendor to accentuate the tabletops which added another dimension of elegance.
This kitchen is innately dark and for this reason we chose a theme of black and white and chrome. The white highlights add some brightness while the chrome keeps it looking up-to-date. Adding plants, flowers and green apples also adds interest.
For the bar setup, we chose to keep with the black and white theme and added a fondue setup in those colors. The bar stools we chose compliment the wicker settee in the family room which is adjoining.
This master bedroom is small and the beautiful cherry stained hardwood floors also tend to darken the room. For this reason, we chose crisp white linens to lighten the room and added red and orange accents to revitalize the look and keep it fun and comfortable looking.
For the master bathroom, we continued the orange and red accents from the master bedroom to coordinate and join these two rooms as a master suite.
Again, continuing with the orange and red from the master bedroom/bathroom, we chose these colors to enhance the brightness of the garden. A fun outdoor dining table and lounge area for after the hot tub make this patio scene inviting, colorful and comfortable.
