This beautiful Rousseau Home in the Sunset was a pleasure to stage! All of the great architectural details prompted us to select furnishings that might have been used in the 30's to compliment this home. Our asymetrical sofa and loveseat and coordinating jewel-toned rug heighten the look of the home. Using the homeowner's red leather chair here also added some textural variety. We chose distressed ottomans rather than other seating options in order to keep views and walkways open to optimize these features of the home. Spacious, elegant, homey and to period is the look achieved.
The arts and crafts era details of this home are echoed here by our traditional mission style furniture which we complimented with very simple yet elegant placesettings and accents. For the window seat, we added pillows, a plant and a Japanese tea set to add atmosphere to the niche. What a fabulous place for a dinner party!
The architectural details of this breakfast room were already terrific. We chose a bronze toned glass-topped table with scrolled base and chairs to echo the metalwork throughout this home. Since the room is small and the details so impressive, we chose to keep the breakfast table clean except for a floral centerpiece. We added a setup for brunch to the beautiful built-in buffet and coordinating artwork to the blank wall to complete the space.
For the entry way, we chose a round entry table with scrolled pedestal mimicking the metal work of the home. We added a large period artwork and floral arrangement which creates an inviting entry without over cluttering.
The homeowners had turned this previously exposed porch into a covered sunroom which added a great spot for sipping wine or reading. Using the homeowner's cute tile-top table, we added a rug to soften the tile and our own chairs and wine set up to complete the vignette.
For this master bedroom, we used the homeowner's bed and complimented it with relaxed toned linens and a flokati rug to soften the room and add appeal. We added a wicker settee in the bay window, coordinating nightstands and a few other items to round out the room. The overall look invites the potential buyer to relax here -- always the goal when presenting a master bedroom.
This cute built-in closet vanity just needed a little color to show it off in a more attractive light.
Here, we added crisp white towels, accents and rug to brighten this already charming bathroom.
